The people

Just because you have the beach to yourself doesn't mean that there are no people. You will be greeted the proper Aceh way by the friendly locals, who are always curious when they see new faces in their quiet little town.

One of these friendly locals is Sono. He is the owner of Sunset Beach Flower and makes sure that your stay will be a very personal and unique experience. Sono and his father built the two bungalows themselves. The devastating 2004 tsunami didn't spare this area and the only reason Sonos' family survived was because they ran for the hills as soon as they saw the water turning wild. As the old bungalows were destroyed, Sono and his father built the two new ones from scratch.

My name is Manuel. I visited the West Coast of Aceh in December 2016 and was stunned by the beauty of this place. I met Sono on the beach, while I was taking pictures. He offered to stay at one of his bungalows and explained to me that it is really hard for tourists passing by to figure out that there is accomodation nearby. In the future Sono plans to build proper road and signs that make the place easier to find. As I do computer stuff for a living, I decided to promote Sunset Beach Flower through this basic website.
